We invite applications for a 39 hour, Permanent Contract position in Sligo.

The Programme Assistant/Driver will be responsible for safely transporting members to and from the Community Centre. They will also lead programme delivery at the Centre, providing personal and activation programmes for members with physical disabilities.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Lead on implementing programme activities within the Community Centre, including daily programming based on participant choice.
* Complete report writing for programme designs.
* Liaise and network with local resources such as colleges for new programme implementation.
* Support the Service Coordinator in creating fundraising initiatives.
* Encourage member participation in developmental, personal, and activation programmes, and implement these programs actively.
* Accompany participants on annual holidays, outings, socials, and day trips as required by the Service Coordinator/Service Support Officer.
* Patiently handle moving and assist with personal care where needed.
* Ensure adherence to health and safety standards in all areas of activities.
* Comply with IWA's Parent and Ancillary Safety Statements and relevant legislative duties.
* Safeguard children and adults from abuse or harm, adhering to IWA's Safeguarding Policies and Procedures.
* Use clamping, hoisting, and lifting equipment as necessary.
* Record and report hazards, accidents, or potential incidents to the Service Coordinator/Service Support Officer.
* Transport participants to and from the Centre daily, and other related community activities as required.
* Maintain vehicles in a roadworthy condition and make arrangements for maintenance, cleanliness, and repairs.
* Mentor staff and volunteers in programme activities and transport safety.
* Maintain buses.
* Show flexibility and availability for out of hours service activities.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Training, Experience and Qualifications
* A minimum of 5 completed modules of QQI level 5 in HealthCare Support or similar qualification is essential.
* A Full category B driving license is essential and a willingness to take on the D licence to drive the busses is desirable.
* Previous experience working with databases and Microsoft Office suite is desirable.
Knowledge and Skills
* Previous experience developing and delivering projects or programmes.
* Experience working with people with disabilities.
* Knowledge of Safety Health and Welfare regulations, transport safety, and standards of use.

The pro-rated salary for this position is €31,291.00 - €34,832.00 DOE.
