Avantor is looking for a Materials Controller (f/m/d) to join our team in Cork. In this role, you are responsible for receiving and storing laboratory consumables and making sure our customer laboratories are well-stocked!

This full-time permanent position is based at our customer site in Cork. Next to an attractive salary and regulated working hours, we offer a performance-based bonus plan, 25 days holiday, and a company pension scheme.
Working hours: Monday-Friday, 07:30-16:00 (37.5 hours/week)
The team
Together with your colleagues, you are part of a supportive, small team, belonging to our department Lab and Product Services, which supports big pharmaceutical companies and laboratories all over the world, in Research and Development within the Life Sciences industry.
What we’re looking for
* Completed Leaving Certificate and a curiosity for Science
* Full training will be given; previous experience in a pharmaceutical/food manufacturing environment is desirable but not essential
* Previous experience with materials handling and/or warehousing would be an advantage
* Ability to understand and follow Health & Safety instructions
* Computer literate
* Proficient in data capture, analysis, and reporting
* Process-driven with high levels of attention to detail
How you will thrive and create an impact
* Ensure that stock is prepared and maintained for detailed storing, perform daily stock cycle counts, and keep accurate records on inventory and check for any discrepancies.
* Order consumable replenishment items online and deliver goods to customer locations. Continuously monitor inventory consumption levels and flag reports on a weekly basis.
* Receive inbound deliveries and account for all defective or damaged products and follow up with appropriate corrective action; move and store stock by hand or machines.
* Glass & cabinet washing; glass, solvents & samples disposal as per expiry date.
* Recycling of all packaging materials as per customer and Avantor policies.
* Identifying opportunities for improved services and implementing them.
* Act as a point of contact for audits relating to inventory programs.
