Senior Psychologist - Irish Prison Service
We are seeking a Senior Psychologist to join our team at the Irish Prison Service in Portlaoise, Co. Laois.
Job Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for completing and supervising comprehensive assessments, formulating individuals referred to the psychology service, and developing behavior monitoring procedures. They will also contribute to multi-disciplinary Care and Management Planning, ensuring recommendations are linked to the individual's formulation.
Key Responsibilities
* Assess and intervene with individuals presenting with mental health difficulties, including mood and anxiety disorders, personality and behavior disorders, complex post-traumatic stress disorder, self-harm and suicidal behavior, eating disorders, psychosis, and schizophrenia.
* Address offence-specific needs, including formal offence-related risk assessments, Parole Board reports, offence-related group and individual work, complex case consultation, and risk management work.
* Work with individuals presenting with developmental disorders, intellectual difficulties, cognitive decline, traumatic brain injuries, limited literacy, and cultural diversity.
Requirements
* Eligibility for graduate membership of the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) or the British Psychological Society (BPS).
* A postgraduate professional qualification in Clinical Psychology recognized by PSI or Counselling Psychology recognized by PSI.
* A minimum of 2 years' post-graduate experience as a Psychologist.
