FRS Recruitment is currently looking for a Maintenance Operative / Construction Operative to join a busy team in Kilkenny To support the Maintenance Dept in the delivery of timely, efficient and effective maintenance / construction related services in the health care setting The Role: Operate equipment and tools that are commonly used in construction / general facilities maintenance and as are appropriate to the role of a construction General Operative. This includes cutting and abrasive tools, access equipment, loading equipment etc Load and unload deliveries of material or equipment Collect materials from Suppliers and deliver to various sites as requested and be responsible for safe and timely delivery of supporting documentation to the Maintenance Office e.g. delivery dockets, invoices etc Carry out maintenance and repairs tasks to include cutting, drilling and chasing of walls and floors, cutting trenches, mixing concrete, plaster etc, cleaning boilers, flues, water storage tanks, gutters, gulleys and sewers, power washing etc Attend Craftspeople during course of their duties (e.g. plumbers, electricians, carpenters, painters, etc and external Contractors as may be required) Liaise with outside Contractors, as required Travel in company provided transport as directed by the Maintenance Officer or delegated person Responsible for the completion and documentation of the daily safety check of assigned vehicle prior to commencing travel Be accountable for all tools, stock or equipment under his/her control and to ensure that all such equipment is kept in the proper state of repair in accordance with safety standards. Any deficits to be reported Carry out grounds maintenance duties as directed including grass cutting, hedge trimming, weed control Carry out such preventive maintenance duties as may be assigned by the Maintenance Officer e.g. scheduled inspection of sewage system, cold water storage tanks, fuel storage tank levels, brine tank salt levels etc Any other appropriate maintenance / construction related duties as may be directed by Maintenance management. Requirements: Previous experience in construction an advantage Previous maintenance / care taking experience essential Safe Pass and Manual Handling Certificate Knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety Be the holder of a full valid Category B Driving Licence Skills: construction general operative maintenance caretaker HSE
