Overview
As a Microsoft Data Center IT Support Technician (DCT), you will provide IT support for secure access workstations (SAWs) laptops, servers as well as conference rooms Audio/Visual(A/V). You will also maintain inventory of spare devices for the sites and make sure the latest updates and operating systems(OS) are installed on the devices.
Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is the engine that powers our cloud services. As a CO+I DCT, you will perform a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform. Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. Experience in supporting IT equipment or related technology.

3. Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
While not required, we also look for the following Preferred Qualifications:
4. Technical College degree in Computer Science, Math, Telecommunications, or equivalent work experience
5. Applicable certifications: CompTIA, Microsoft, Network Certifications
6. Experience operating heavy-load movement equipment (pallet jacks, chassis lifts, etc.)
7. Perform and execute organization’s safety programs and policies, and compliance knowledge.
8. Flexibility to work non-business hours (shifts) that may include weekends and/or holidays.
9. Valid license to drive standard street-legal automatic transmission vehicles within your DC’s local jurisdiction.

10. Providing Tier 2 support for secure devices used by technicians in production space.
11. Configuration and deployment of secured devices and storage to new sites
12. Managing inventory of devices for use by Metro staff
13. Providing general IT support including but not limited to laptops/desktops, device resets, 2FA, network printer fleet, label and rack printers, network issues, desk patching, mobile devices...
14. Maintaining stock levels of preapproved items for use by campus staff. Carrying out monthly cycle counts on stock.
15. Maintaining and troubleshooting issues with Teams conference rooms.
16. Supporting Senior IT Support Techs during live events.
17. Building strong working relationships with people working within the data center and at corporate.
18. Ensuring SAW devices are in a “healthy” state, meeting Security’s compliance standard.
19. Receiving confidential information to perform BIOS setting changes.
20. Managing SAW inventory, including receiving, assigning/re-assigning, and decommissioning devices.
21. Providing guidance to users for common SAW repair issues and escalating issues experienced by users.
22. Performing Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) for SAWs damaged within the first 30 days of receipt.
23. Providing Data center Technician-level support when needed. Responsibilities include performing power cycles, swap out failed components, handling storage media, and perform troubleshooting when needed. Also, performing cable installations, hardware rack / stack installations, testing, and troubleshooting using standard data center processes.
24. Supporting the deployment of on-site DC physical infrastructure including Servers, NetDevices, SANs, Windows Server OS Support, Parts/Component replacement and physical hardware troubleshooting when needed.
