For over three decades, Catalyx’s partnership-based culture has helped organizations in production-intense, highly regulated industries optimize their operational efficiency, performance, and safety The Role:The IT Support Engineer will provide expertise, support and direction on a variety of IT issues for internal stakeholders.Responsibilities and Tasks:Provide technical support to internal customers through phone, email, live chat, and face-to-face interactions in a professional and friendly manner.Troubleshoot and diagnose issues across various areas, including user support, onboarding, network maintenance, servers, cloud services, and Office 365 administration, both remotely and onsite, ensuring quick and effective resolution.Monitor and maintain cybersecurity defences, including antivirus solutions, Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) systems, security event monitoring, patch management, and compliance checks to ensure timely threat detection and remediation.Assist in backup monitoring, disaster recovery testing, and business continuity planning to safeguard critical systems and data.Oversee the registration, maintenance, and lifecycle management of IT hardware and software assets, ensuring accurate records and proactive maintenance.Escalate cases to the IT Manager when an issue is too complex or outside of specific expertise.Contribute to system enhancement and improvement projects, including the implementation of new business systems, automation initiatives, and performance optimizations.Identify opportunities for system development, efficiency improvements, and user experience enhancements.Provide user training on IT security best practices, company policies, and new technology implementations.Maintain up-to-date documentation, including IT processes, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge base articles.Collaborate with third-party vendors for IT services, licensing, and support contracts.Experience and Skills Required:A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field or a recognised industry qualification such as Microsoft certifications is essential.Minimum 4 years of experience providing IT technical support across multiple areas, including user support, onboarding, network maintenance, Office 365 administration, and troubleshooting both on-premise and cloud-based systems.Experience with ISO 27001 or other security/compliance frameworks is an advantage.Hands-on experience with Azure Active Directory, Intune, and cloud-based identity management is desirable.Familiarity with cybersecurity tools, such as Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), antivirus solutions, and security event monitoring, is a plus.Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse complex technical issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users and work collaboratively with teams across the business.Ability to document processes, troubleshooting steps, and technical guides to improve knowledge sharing and IT efficiency.
