AA Euro Group is recruiting for an Electrical Lead for our client, a leading utilities company in Ireland.
You will play a key role by ensuring that these documents are reviewed and developed in line with the constantly changing needs of our customers in relation to the adoption of Low Carbon Technology (LCT) in both new and existing premises connected to the LV network.
Key ResponsibilitiesReviewing, redefining, and ensuring all LV electrical design standards, policies, and procedures, including understanding, assessing, and accounting for the impact of LCT uptake.
Lead in the assessment, consideration, and analysis required of existing or emergent data sets (external and internal) relevant to LV design.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders in the Asset Management department (including overhead lines, underground cables, and protection) Commercial and Smart Metering teams, in support of introducing changes to LV design standards, policies, and procedures.
Managing the updating of documents through the internal document management system and process.
Develop new/updated design tools and processes that support the design standards.
Support local design team members with non-standard LV SI designs.
Management of any 3rd party consultants/contractors required to provide specialist advice related to LV design standards.
Represent the company in the area of LV standards/policy on international utility working groups.
Build and maintain strong relationships with other key external stakeholders in the industry, peer groups, etc.
Complete internal and external technical articles, reports, and presentations at external webinars and seminars, supporting the demonstration to policymakers, senior management, and staff that the company is successfully working to enable electrification.
Experience and QualificationsA primary degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience.8+ years relevant work experience.
Knowledge and experience of distribution system asset management, utility company standards, in particular for the MV/LV system for both overhead and underground networks.
Highly skilled in creating technical documentation, report writing, and communication to varied audiences.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, experience leading cross-functional initiatives, to solve problems and to get the job done with a clear focus on delivery to project safety, time, quality, and cost objectives.
Experience in providing on-the-job training and knowledge sharing with junior/new team members.
Ability to delegate and assign work to others to ensure on-time completion of work in line with priorities.
Self-motivated with the ability to plan and communicate requirements to progress new initiatives, and a track record of delivering work and/or projects.
Demonstration of strong stakeholder management skills, both internal and external.
Familiarity with using key engineering/business systems and tools, for example, SAP and GIS systems.
DesirableA high-level understanding of the electrical supply business, structure, processes, and commercial operating model.
Experience with using a document management system and process.
Knowledge of CRU, TSO, and industry, including government policies and the Climate Action Plan.
Familiar with project management tools and techniques.
Experience in risk management:
the identification, assessment, mitigation, tracking, control, and management of project risks.
