Corporate Sales Manager
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Corporate Sales Manager to join our team here at InterContinental Hotel. Reporting to the Director of Sales & Marketing, this role will proactively work to drive meetings and events business from Irish corporate accounts and conference agents.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
1. Manage a pre-determined number of key contracted local and global corporate accounts to include development and management of meeting room and groups business related to your managed accounts.
2. Establish, grow, and manage local Embassy accounts.
3. Proactively prospect new accounts for the property, and follow sales process through to conversion into 'producing' accounts.
4. Identify, create and manage target accounts and consortia agencies that will generate business on behalf of hotel in conjunction with IHG global sales team.
5. Utilise arrival reports, Hotelligence 360, Opera business intelligence etc., to solicit and secure business on behalf of hotel.
6. Impact corporate sales production to ensure maximum account penetration.
7. Create and execute account plans/company needs analysis for top 20 accounts and make recommendations re: pricing, yield management, room night production, sales activities, etc.
8. Create a targeted RFP hit list to communicate to GSO in advance of RFP season for multi-user account development.
9. Manage annual RFP process for each individual targeted account including account and market intelligence and pricing recommendations to maximise hotel profitability and secure travel programme inclusion.
10. Organise and facilitate site inspections of the hotel and entertain clients as appropriate to support business efforts.
11. Organise Fam Trips/Corporate events where required to ensure maximum sales effort.
12. To have a strong knowledge of competitive set and remain up to date on key business trends.
13. Maintain valid call objectives and relevant action plans for each key account/key prospect and ensure all follow up is executed in a timely manner.
14. Maintain up-to-date activity and rate information for each account.
15. Understand and be in a position to action any group and events enquiries when required and ensure accurate hand over and follow up to Events Team.
16. Attend any trade fairs/IHG preset call cycle in UK relevant to your market as a representative of the property, ensuring that a professional image of the Hotel is portrayed, and that every opportunity is taken to promote the Hotel.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years previous experience in a similar sales role in a four or five star hotel. In addition, candidates will be/have:
1. Full clean driver’s license and own transport.
2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
3. Standards-driven and customer-focused.
4. Self-motivated with strong leadership skills.
