As Assistant Corporate Counsel, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Legal and Compliance department on a variety of general legal matters for the company and its worldwide subsidiaries, focused on our European business and regulatory compliance.This position reports to the Chief Legal Officer.Responsibilities:Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various commercial agreements such as client agreements, service agreements, and non-disclosure agreementsIdentifying potential legal risks in contracts and potential business relationships and advising on mitigation strategiesAssisting in the drafting, maintenance, and implementation of contract templates and company policies and proceduresMonitoring and tracking new legislation and changes to existing laws and regulations relevant to the company's operations, globally and with a focus on the European Union, including privacy laws, GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation), DORA (Digital Operational Resilience Act), and other similar regulationsAnalyzing and supporting compliance with various European Union regulatory requirements, including privacy, data protection, and operational resilience mandatesAssisting in conducting legal research on a variety of legal topics, with an emphasis on regulatory complianceSupporting the preparation of reports and presentations created by the legal and compliance team for internal and external stakeholdersProviding legal support, as needed, on a variety of other legal matters for the company and its affiliates, in various jurisdictionsWorking closely with other departments, such as compliance and sales, to provide legal support and ensure alignment with business objectives and company requirementsRequirementsQualifications and Experience:A degree in Law from a reputable university, with strong academic performance3-4 years of post-qualification experience, preferably with a reputable law firm or in-house corporate legal team, with a practice focused on commercial and corporate mattersSolid understanding of European Union law and regulationsDirect experience working across jurisdictions and time zones, with practical knowledge of cross-border legal issuesFluency in English (written and spoken) is essential; French language skills are a plus, but not requiredExcellent research, and written and oral communication skillsExceptional organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to maintain discretion and confidentialityAbility to work independently while being a team player with a positive attitudeWillingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environmentKnowledge of regulatory environments in the financial service sectorThis role offers an excellent opportunity to enhance your legal expertise while contributing to a company committed to excellence and innovation.
