Role Overview: UCD Campus Sport and Leisure Limited is currently seeking a highly motivated and suitably qualified Assistant Swimming Pool Manager to assist in the efficient and safe operation and management of our aquatic facilities.
This role will be essential in overseeing the pool area, including the Tepidarium, changing areas, wet classroom, and plant room.
Under the general supervision of the Pool Manager, you will help ensure the smooth running of the pool facilities, maintaining high standards of safety and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities: Enforce policies and procedures to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the pool facilities.
Manage, train, and evaluate lifeguard staff and deck supervisors, including recruitment, induction training, ongoing staff development, and upskilling in customer service, rescue skills, and best practices.
Maintain and ensure relevant staff qualifications are up to date.
Deliver training as required.
Oversee pool operations, including first aid, lifeguard rotations, and scheduling.
Ensure the daily operation and inspection of pool plant equipment (water quality, chemical dosing, and filtration).
Coordinate maintenance of all equipment and ensure health and safety records are kept up to date.
Assist in delivering the companys Learn to Swim program and facilitate ad-hoc bookings as required.
Work closely with Duty Managers to maintain facility excellence.
Promote the facility to members and customers, ensuring a high level of customer service at all times.
Be flexible with your schedule, as weekend and evening availability may be required.
Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications Required: Pool Plant Operators Qualification.
Royal Lifesaving Society (or equivalent) - Qualified Trainer/Assessor for Pool Lifeguarding.
Pool Lifeguard Qualification (IWS / RLSS).
Full Swim Teachers Certificate.
First Aid Qualification.
Fluent English.
Child Safeguarding Certificate.
Desirable Qualifications/Experience: Third-level or higher qualification in leisure management or a similar field.
Manual Handling Certificate.
Previous experience in a similar role within a leisure or swimming pool environment.
Knowledge of National Quality Standards (e.g., White Flag accreditation from Ireland Active).
