Job Description
Senior Scheduler
Senior Schedulers must possess a good understanding of the project delivery process and
timescales to effectively deliver a project. It is expected that the candidate will be educated
to degree level in a project management, engineering, or construction industry discipline.
Strong analytical & IT skills, particularly Excel, Primavera and MS Office Suite, including
Power BI is desirable.

4. Client Subject Matter Experts (schedulers, Project Managers, Risk Managers,
5. Finance Managers)
6. Team Project Schedulers
7. PMO Lead, Project Controls, Cost and Data Teams
Key Responsibilities
8. Developing and maintaining project schedules and establishing a baseline.
9. Monitoring critical path and float erosion and advising on corrective action.
10. Establishing budgets and monitoring project costs; ensuring accurate cost
11. forecasts and profiles, accurately assessing value of work and accruals, and
12. ensuring costs booked to the correct codes.
13. Forecast project resource demands and undertake resource smoothing and
14. levelling in conjunction with work package owners.
15. Recording & facilitating change management.
16. Recording & challenging risk provision.
17. Maintaining appropriate re-forecasted project baselines.
18. Ensuring that project outputs are captured, reported, and remain accurate.
19. Monitoring trends and forecasts and work with the Regional Lead and with
20. Project Controls Manager to identify conflicts and threats to Project success.
21. Preparing summary reports to highlight project issues, risks and forthcoming milestones and actions, and prompting intervention as necessary.
22. Supporting the Project Manager and Project Team to ensure projects are delivered on time, to budget and meet the project objectives.
23. Supporting the Lead Project Control Engineer and Area Project Controls
24. Manager in ensuring overall control of the delivery area programme.
25. Ensure involvement and contribution of the whole project team
26. Managing complex information requirements from the Delivery Teams, to allow effective management of the Capital Programme.
27. Contribution to business success by supporting the development, implementation, and management of new business processes and systems whilst maintaining the team outputs to customers.
28. Collaborating with and influencing the Programme Office team, projects managers, and others to ensure successful implementation of ideas and best practice.
29. Assist Programme Managers in planning its future projects and phases of work.
30. Ability to design and generate multiple reporting formats and outputs independently
31. Management of relevant Tools & Systems.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
32. The Senior Scheduler must demonstrate knowledge, behaviours and approach that are client centric, professional, and based on best-practice industry standards.
33. Proactive ability to improve and develop written best practice material in the form of scheduling handbooks and procedures.
34. They shall have a strong, self-policing organizational and administrative disciplines, particularly in the ability to aggregate and report multiple contract schedule updates within set deadlines.
35. They shall need to demonstrate excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), negotiation skills and persuasiveness in their various interactions.
36. Experience using project, contract and finance management tools, (
37. Primavera P6, Maximo, PCM and Oracle) They shall have good presentation skills and ability to work with contractors and consultants.
38. Strong commercial awareness in the governance, control and performance analysis of large-scale complex and varied portfolio is required.
39. Experience working to regulatory and project deadlines.
40. Experience of developing and maintaining effective strategic partnerships with key stakeholders.
41. Demonstrated leadership ability, proactive development, motivation, and engagement of teams.
42. Driver of high standards for individual, team and organisational accomplishment and delivering desired results.
43. They must have a 5+ year plus civil / infrastructure experience (water experience preferable but not essential) and hold a relevant university qualification.
44. They must have 5+ years plus years plus scheduling experience with proficiency in MS Project, Primavera P6. MS Power BI and NEC Contract experience preferable.
