Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Buyer to join our team at a successful Manufacturing business in County Antrim. The ideal candidate will manage the procurement of raw materials, products, and services, ensuring they meet specifications, quality standards, and budgetary requirements.
Main Responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and delivery schedules.
* Monitor inventory levels and forecast demand to prevent shortages or overstocking.
* Analyze market trends and supplier performance to identify cost-saving opportunities and drive process improvements.
* Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and relevant industry regulations.
* Collaborate with internal teams-including production, logistics, and quality control-to facilitate seamless procurement and timely deliveries.
* Manage purchase orders, track delivery schedules, and promptly resolve any quality or timing discrepancies.
* Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, supplier contracts, and purchase agreements.
* Proactively source and evaluate new suppliers to enhance the company's sourcing capabilities and competitiveness.
Requirements:
* 2 years' previous purchasing experience, ideally within manufacturing.
* Strong Excel and MRP skills.
* Adept negotiator and communicator.
* Previous success with cost-saving projects.
