Job Description
Our client, a well-established public transport company in Dublin, seeks skilled HGV and Car Mechanics to join their team on a permanent basis. To be considered, applicants must possess a National Craft Certificate for the trade of Heavy/light Vehicle Mechanic or be currently registered in an apprenticeship.
Key Responsibilities:
* Vehicle and plant fault diagnosis
* Preventative maintenance and repair of vehicles, plant, and premises
* All tasks associated with mechanical systems, electrical systems, and body systems of vehicles
* Operation of garage equipment
* Greasing of vehicle lubrication points and change of vehicle oils; maintenance of vehicle batteries
* Undertaking all tasks provided for in the Productivity Agreements EGRP02.4 HR – August and reporting any vehicle defects observed to supervisor
* Maintenance of clean and efficient workshop
* Undertaking roadside repair and recovery of vehicles
Qualification Requirements:
* National Craft Certificate for the trade of Heavy/light Vehicle Mechanic awarded by SOLAS/Department of Education following the successful completion of a recognised SOLAS apprenticeship OR
* Advanced Certificate – Craft awarded by FETAC following the successful completion of a recognised SOLAS apprenticeship
Driving Licence Requirements:
* A Valid Category B Irish Driving Licence - held for a minimum of 2 years OR
* A Valid Full Category D Irish Driving licence
Other Requirements:
* Age: over 21 years old (to comply with D licence regulation)
* Fluent spoken and written English
* Availability to work shifts, including nights, weekends, public holidays, and rotating shifts depending on staffing requirements
