Support Worker Role with the Limerick Homeless Action Team
Cpl Healthcare, in partnership with a leading non-profit organization, seeks passionate individuals to join the Limerick Homeless Action Team.
This vital role involves supporting vulnerable individuals, primarily young people, on their journey to finding long-term, stable housing solutions.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Provide assessments and practical advice to those experiencing homelessness.
* Enable clients to secure suitable housing, avoiding prolonged emergency accommodation stays.
* Guide and assist clients in navigating social housing applications and private rental opportunities.
* Support clients transitioning into new homes, connecting them with essential services.
* Collaborate with local authorities, community groups, and housing providers to improve client outcomes.
* Advocate for increased access to health and social services for those in need.
Your Role in Detail
* Manage and maintain an active caseload, adhering to best practices in Care and Case Management.
* Prepare monthly reports detailing client progress and move-on plans.
* Respond promptly to child protection or welfare concerns, following organizational protocols.
* Engage in regular supervision, training, and team meetings to enhance your skills and knowledge.
* Uphold organizational policies, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all.
Requirements and Qualifications
* Qualifications: Degree in social care, psychology, or sociology.
* Experience: Proven track record in social care, particularly with young people aged 18-23. Experience in risk assessments, support planning, and child protection responsibilities is essential.
* Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, and the ability to handle challenging behaviors. IT and report-writing skills are a plus.
* Requirements: Full, clean driver's license and access to a car.
