We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced Public Relations Manager to join our Communications team. The Public Relations Manager will be involved in developing and executing various PR campaigns for Lidl across Ireland & Northern Ireland. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced retail environment with a passion for news and skill in landing key messages with external and internal stakeholders.
What you'll do
1. Full management of individual PR campaigns across consumer, corporate, and CSR comms, from inception and development through to delivery of results and measurement and evaluation.
2. Development of strategic PR plans to include internal and external stakeholder engagement and management of relationships.
3. Full budget management of PR campaigns.
4. Drafting, editing, and issuing press materials and a wide range of written and digital communications.
5. Conduct campaign reviews, analytics, and demonstrate strong ROI per campaign.
6. Liaising with key departments across the business; CSR, Property, Purchasing, and Sponsorship to identify appropriate news angles with a view to generating positive press coverage for the business.
7. Proactive engagement with key contacts in the media on a daily basis.
8. Developing and maintaining an up-to-date contact database across all relevant media sectors.
9. Managing multiple PR agencies to deliver effective campaigns within timeframe and budget.
10. Managing reports for Lidl Ireland and Northern Ireland and Lidl International.
11. Assisting the wider Communications team with internal communications, social media, stakeholder engagement, and events as required.
What you'll need
1. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the PR field is essential.
2. Third-level degree is essential.
3. An in-depth knowledge of the Irish media landscape and key contacts in both corporate and consumer media.
4. People-person with a passion for news, storytelling, and landing key messages with media and stakeholders.
5. Excellent communication skills.
6. Ability to work independently on projects and proven track record of landing strong consumer and corporate coverage, and consistently demonstrating initiative.
7. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic business area managing multiple projects and stakeholders.
8. Strong interest in the retail supermarket industry.
9. Ability to manage time effectively, prioritise, and multi-task.
10. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships at all levels of the organisation.
11. Full driver’s license is essential.
What you'll receive
Through our salary system, we ensure pay equality across all positions at Lidl.
* €49,500 rising to €63,000 after 3 years.
* 20 days holidays per annum rising to 25 days after two years.
