Description
Cork University Hospital (CUH) is the largest acute hospital in the country and a primary teaching hospital with close alliances to University College Cork (UCC). CUH plays a central role in the management of co-located services on-site.
CUH is the only Level 1 Trauma Centre in Ireland, offering 40 different medical and surgical specialties, including Neurosciences, Cardiac Services, Orthopaedics, General Surgery, and more.
CUH serves as a tertiary referral centre for the HSE Southern area and a supra-regional centre for a total population of 1.1 million.
CUH currently has 800 beds and employs 3,400 staff across multiple professions.
CUH provides the only consultant-led clinical neurophysiology service outside of Dublin, offering a comprehensive range of services including NCS/EMG, EEG, evoked potentials, and intraoperative neuromonitoring.
We provide services to nearly every medical and surgical team in the hospital, with the highest demand from Orthopaedics, Paediatrics, ICU/Critical Care, and the Emergency Department.
