Capability & Engagement Manager Location: St James Gate Brewery, Dublin Role Type: Full-Time, Permanent Closing date: 19th December 2024 We are looking for an enthusiastic Capability & Engagement Manager to join our team at St James Gate Brewery. About the site St. James's Gate Brewery in Dublin is Diageo's largest manufacturing facility in Ireland, and the largest stout brewery in the world, producing over three million pints of Guinness every day, supplying a growing Irish, UK and US market, and exporting to 90 global markets. Our main beer brands are Guinness, Rockshore, Hop House 13, Smithwick's and Harp. We also brew Carlsberg and Tuborg under licence for the Irish market, as well as a range of newer products, most recently Guinness 0.0 The brewery is highly utilised placing a premium on plant and process reliability. In late 2014 Diageo completed a €169 million investment creating a world class brewing centre of excellence at St. James's Gate, which has increased the competitiveness of beer exports through our end-to-end global supply chain network. Given continued growing demand for our beers, Diageo committed a further 100 million to the Brewery last year, enabling our team to deliver increased volume, new innovations and replacing our Kegging facility. About the role This role is pivotal to ensuring that we have the skills and capabilities to deliver our future strategy as we drive continuous improvement across site and step changes in sustainability, digital, performance and culture. The Capability & Engagement Manager needs to leverage the skillsets and capabilities of our employees but also be connected to our wider business strategy to ensure we continue to update and elevate skillsets to manage future ambitions and requirements. Some of the Key Accountabilities are Complete a regular gap analysis on the requirements of our future strategy vs our existing capabilities Partnering with the leadership team to diagnose, define and deploy learning solutions through understanding best practice, both internally and externally. Ensuring the site capability plan both current and future is driven brilliantly within budget. Supporting all people managers on site with analysis, sourcing delivery and evaluation of development activity. Ensuring all legislative training and policy requirements are fully met Ensuring all New Starts /internal movers have a training plan identified and ready for them to commence their new role. Develop and align the site skills matrix and empowerment matrix with the overall training plan and site performance goals. Will be responsible for developing training and development efficiency indicators to supervise progress as well as differences between operational areas. Design, and where appropriate, deliver efficient Training and Development solutions and activities in conjunction with internal and external suppliers. Lead the site communications and engagement strategy ensuring organisational initiatives are impactful. About You The ideal candidate will be determined with a passion for learning and development, able to build strong relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders at all levels and communicate effectively. Relevant training qualification and background. Demonstratable experience in developing a training strategy and leading the execution of impactful interventions. Experience in a leadership role, coaching team members, and communicating across operations and management teams. Excellent IT and data literacy skills, strong planning and coordination abilities, and the capability to manage and implement complex plans. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Ability the tone for site engagement and positive work behaviours An understanding of change management principles, combined with the ability to influence at all levels, is needed. We are looking for someone who is culturally sensitive and adaptable. Experience of working in a Brewing / FMCG/manufacturing or a similar environment with knowledge of Manufacturing Excellence tools/ Manufacturing Operations/ Packaging/ Lean Methodologies/ Process Control/ or Engineering Techniques would be beneficial.
