Check out this video to hear directly from them.What you’ll doAs (Senior) Director of Design you lead and shape Wayflyer’s design organisation, setting the vision and strategy to deliver world-class user experiences that empower e-commerce brands to thrive.Partner closely with the VP of Product and CTO to align design efforts with our product roadmap, ensuring our financing tools are intuitive, impactful, and scalable.Oversee the end-to-end design process, from research and ideation to execution, driving solutions that enhance customer onboarding, funding workflows, and brand trust.Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing global design team, fostering a culture of quality, creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.Champion user-centric design principles, leveraging data and customer insights to refine our platform and support Wayflyer’s growth ambitions.Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success to ensure a cohesive brand identity that resonates with e-commerce businesses worldwide.Drive innovation in how we visualise and communicate complex financial solutions, making them accessible and compelling for our clients.Knowledge, skills and experienceYou’ve led design teams and delivered impact in scaling, cross-functional environments — whether that’s over 8 or 15 years, in high-growth fintech, e-commerce, or B2B tech environments.You bring deep product design expertise — from shaping user flows to evolving systems and user research — and know when to zoom in or out, ideally with experience designing intuitive solutions for financial services or customer-facing platforms.Demonstrated ability to partner with senior product and tech leaders to align design with business and technical goals. You bring design into strategic conversations early and help shape company-wide decisions through user insights and storytelling.Strong background in building and leading global, cross-functional design teams, with a focus on mentorship and operational excellence.Hands-on experience with user research, prototyping, and data-driven design iteration, particularly in fast-paced, customer-obsessed organisations.You think in systems — from scalable design ops to design systems that evolve with the product.Familiarity with the e-commerce ecosystem and an understanding of how design can drive trust, engagement, and growth for digital brands.Exceptional prioritisation skills, with a knack for balancing strategic vision with tactical execution in a dynamic, scaling business.A portfolio or case studies showcasing real-world impact: think simplified financial workflows, enhanced onboarding, or elevated brand experiences.What is important to point out is that you can do most or all of the above mentioned and can point to your real experience doing it. You’ve probably done it at companies of different shapes, sizes and industries.
