Internship Program Details:

This 6 month internship will begin on Monday January 13th, 2025, and will end on Friday July 11th, 2025. It is a full-time role, Monday through Friday, from 9:00am – 5:30pm. To be eligible for our internship program you must be able to work in a hybrid environment and be on-site 3 days per week at our Kilkenny office which is in the IDA Business and Technology Park.
About the role:
As an Intelligence Analyst Intern on our Intelligence Operations team, you will be responsible for providing UKG with crucial, timely, and reliable information about cyber threats, researching and analyzing various threat-related data and information to glean useful insights for decision makers and support security investigations and initiatives. Being on a team within our Cyber Defense Fusion Center, you will regularly interact and work with members of our Security Operations Center, Counter Security team, Detection Engineering team, and Business Continuity team.
Responsibilities:
1. Gather TTPs (Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures) of malicious actors targeting our industry and partners via open-source research, as well as leveraging our threat vendor repositories.
2. Research and gather IOCs relating to malware targeting core infrastructure.
3. Investigate and track vulnerability exploits/proof of concepts and collaborate internally to mitigate risks to the company.
4. Discover, validate, and integrate new sources of threat information into existing intelligence lifecycle processes.
5. Work with internal security components to gather requirements and discuss findings.
6. Produce analysis using all-source tools to identify characteristics of threat actors operating against the best interests of the company.
7. Produce trend analysis based on research of events in correlation to attacks in the wild.
Basic Qualifications:
* Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree related to Cybersecurity, Intelligence Analysis, Data Science, Library Science, Information Security, or similar field.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Interest in global cyber threat actors and the tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs) used by cyber adversaries.
* Microsoft suite proficiency.
* Quick learner with new software or computer applications.
* Strong verbal, written, and visual communication skills.
* Strong analytical, business process analysis, and problem-solving capabilities.
* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage and connect with internal and external partners.
* Strong critical thinking and structured analysis skills.
* Knowledge of operating systems.
* Knowledge of the MITRE ATT&CK framework.
