We're looking for a software development manager to lead a team building foundational network services for our Software Defined Networking ecosystem.
The team will design and own a closed-loop system for network entity reservation associated with procurement activities.
This service is vital for network capacity planning and automation.
As a manager, you'll lead a team of software developers solving challenging problems with innovative solutions.
The team bridges network engineering and software engineering disciplines.
They build large-scale distributed software systems using open-source technologies and Amazon's proprietary technologies.
You'll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers.
You'll collaborate to deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest cost for customers.
Responsibilities
* Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software development life cycle.
* Experience in engineering team management.
* Experience in leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services.
* Experience partnering with product and program management teams.
* Experience designing or architecting systems.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience in communicating with users and senior leadership to collect requirements and describe software product features.
* Experience in recruiting, mentoring, and managing teams of Software Engineers.
* Master's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent.
* Knowledge of major routing protocols and network hardware.
