ROLE: Automotive Functional Safety Manager
LOCATION: Dublin, Ireland
SALARY: Negotiable
DURATION: Permanent
Responsibilities:
1. Manage all work products outlined in the project safety plan and those derived across the product lifecycle, including concept, architectural, and hardware levels.
2. Coordinate with internal development teams and automotive customers to ensure compliance with functional safety requirements.
3. Collaborate with product teams to assess customer needs related to quality, functional safety, and automotive reliability.
4. Work closely with functional safety teams and internal development groups on project planning, task management, progress tracking, and reporting.
5. Participate in quality and functional safety reviews and prepare reports.
6. Maintain and improve functional safety methods and templates.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) with 8+ years of relevant experience, or Master's degree (MSEE) with 7+ years of relevant experience.
2. Familiarity with protocols such as DDR, PCIe, or UCIe.
3. Understanding of semiconductor development flows (digital design experience is a plus).
4. Formal ISO 26262 training required.
5. PMP certification is a plus.
6. Experience with ISO 26262 work products, including Technical Safety Concept, Safety Plan, FMEA, FMEDA, Dependent Fault Analysis, Safety Manual, and Safety Case (Hardware focus).
7. Previous experience as a Functional Safety Manager in safety-critical applications, with a strong grasp of hardware development and lifecycle management.
8. Experience qualifying systems with embedded hardware to ISO 26262 ASIL levels, up to ASIL D.
9. Proficient in English, with working knowledge of JAMA, DOORS, or similar tools.
10. Familiarity with automotive reliability standards such as AEC-Q100 and quality standards like ISO 9001 or IATF 16949 is a plus.
