Focus Housing Association is an approved housing body and a registered charity.
It has attained certified body status with the Housing Finance Agency and is regulated by the Housing Agency and the Charity Regulatory Authority and is a company limited by guarantee.
What you will do: The Head of Finance is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Finance team.
The person will: Ensure the maximum performance from the members of the finance teamEnsure poor performance is addressed while strong performance is nurtured and encouragedTake a lead role in the development of the team membersPreparation of Monthly Management Accounts: Ensure timely preparation of accounts (Minimum working day 6)Ensure accuracy of accounts and supporting schedulesEnsure analysis is complete and accurateEnsure accurate and timely production and distribution of the departmental and project monthly management accountsEnsure consistency between reporting, GL and other management information tools e.g.
AffinityManagement of the annual audit process: Ensure smooth completion of the annual auditEnsure audit is completed on a timely basis to allow for AGM to happen in JuneLiaise with internal auditors & implement recommendations where agreedManagement of the annual budget process: Take the lead in preparatory meetings with department heads and managersEnsure timely completion to allow Board sign off in NovemberEnsure accuracy and completeness of reports & schedulesEnsuring key controls are in place to safeguard the assets of the Organisation: Strong controls of Grants receivable including the accounting treatment and payment controlsStrong controls of Rental Income including the accounting treatment and payment controlsStrong controls of Fundraising Income including the accounting treatment and payment controlsTake the lead in cash control for the OrganisationCashflow management and controlSuppliers process – ordering, sign off, invoice processing and paymentAsset & Liability register for all property assetsBank ReconciliationsProper accounting for accruals and prepaymentsTake the lead role for costs control for the OrganisationDeliver Finance training workshops to Property & Development team as requiredPrepare all annual statutory submissions: The Housing RegulatorHousing Finance Agencyand other relevant authoritiesDevelop and maintain appropriate governance and controls to secure, manage and maintain the Finances of Focus Housing Association with the Director of Finance Support all appropriate board sub-committees in their management, control and stewardship of Focus Housing Association with the Director of Finance Manage and maintain the business case development for new property proposals with the Development team Support the other members of the Property, Development and Management teams in achieving the objectives of the organisation including to carry out feasibility analysis for all property acquisitions and reviewing all loan applications What you will need: Must be qualified accountant with extensive accounts experience especially in fixed assets, loans, debtors and all aspects of reconciliations.
