The National Immunisation Advisory Committee (NIAC) is seeking to appoint a Special Advisor.
Background
The successful candidate will support the National Immunisation Advisory Committee (NIAC), working closely with the Chair, Committee, Clinical Lead and other members of the Secretariat.
Reporting Relationship
The appointee will report to the Clinical Lead.
Specific Duties
The Special Advisor will be responsible for duties including, but not limited to:
* Liaising with subject matter experts, applying high quality methodology using systematic search strategies, synthesis and quality assessment to produce the best evidence to inform NIAC recommendations and horizon scanning on new science relating to vaccines and immunisation.
* Co-ordinating and co-authoring the review and update of the Immunisation Guidelines for Ireland.
* Assisting with advice and responding to immunisation queries.
* Working as part of the Clinical Lead and other members of the Secretariat to achieve the above.
Requirements
Key competencies and skills:
* Experience in a senior healthcare position.
* Expertise in a relevant area e.g., public health, infectious diseases, immunology, paediatrics.
* Knowledge and experience in systematic literature and evidence review.
* Critical appraisal skills, attention to detail and excellent documentation skills.
* Self-starter with the ability to work independently and flexibly.
* Strong research and organisational skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
