What is the opportunity?
We are a growing and exciting unit called Enterprise Integration that owns API and Integration technology development across a number of strategic integration platforms and products. We are building a team of creative, like-minded technology enthusiasts who have the skills and capabilities to deliver industry-leading software solutions to meet the current and future needs of a market-leading Digital Relationship Bank. We have fully embraced Agile ways of working such as Scrum, DevOps, and CI/CD in a highly collaborative team environment!
You will be responsible for supporting the development and maturity of our Agile Engineering Capability through facilitating and guiding the work of Agile Team(s) in delivering value through Scrum and ensuring we deliver on our commitments.
In this Role, you will
* Represent the Enterprise Integration function at senior-level partner meetings and have the ability to challenge decisions in order to get the best outcome for customers.
* Provide technical leadership and direction to the supplier-led agile squads (and shared services).
* Work with Factory Lead and the Agile Demand Manager to shape and estimate demand for the Factory as described by the change portfolio and business.
* Support the production of cost forecasts, maintain and improve accurate estimation tools.
* Be accountable for the leadership of between 4-8 squads and ensuring the delivery of value as per the agreed backlog and in line with the PI which supports the wider programmes.
* Leverage tools such as Jira and Confluence to establish the flow of work and drive visibility, transparency, and collaboration.
* Own and drive the Software Configuration Management plan across multiple squads ensuring effective adoption of SCM, continuous integration, and dev/ops processing.
Essential Skills & Experience
* Technical experience of the end-to-end SDLC including (on-premise and cloud hosting); waterfall & agile methodologies, dev/ops processes, management of solution design and development teams, automation tooling, code management, and environment services.
* Experience leading engineering teams with a steadfast focus on delivering business value.
* Experience of Agile governance, operating models, and partner management in a large sophisticated Financial Services environment.
* Experience of leading code into production and service management.
* Management experience within a sophisticated business environment where there are substantial numbers of non-direct reports and multiple 3rd party suppliers.
What will make you stand out?
Deep understanding of IT Industry standard methodology in Agile software delivery, along with an understanding of the delivery risks faced by IT delivery and the controls in place to handle & mitigate these risks.
Essential Qualifications
3rd level degree in a similar subject area or equivalent experience.

As part of that team, our Enterprise Integration team is responsible for delivering IT Solutions across the overall Bank of Ireland Digital Portfolio as part of the Bank's IT Engineering Function.
