About The Role
The Credit Controller role is within the Shared Services Team, reporting into Credit Control Manager. You must be able to demonstrate credit control experience with a proven track record of collecting cash from a high volume of debtors using effective and efficient methods.
You will have the confidence to take full ownership of your ledger, with a focus on resolving queries and minimising debt. You will be responsible for ensuring customer balances remain within account terms and support the wider business units with query resolution.
The Role
* To ensure timely cash collection of all outstanding payments - minimising the AR outstanding balance whilst reducing DSO
* Manage a ledger of designated accounts
* To assist with all aspects of the credit function
* Account reconciliations and statement processing
* Run daily and weekly reports.
* Issuing reminders and follow up for payments, chasing overdue invoices via the telephone and email
* Arrange appropriate action for customers who do not pay to terms - following company policy - 7 Days notice, LBA’s.
* Sending out copy invoices, statements and managing customer queries
* Liaise with other departments around the business to resolve queries and close invoices
* Administering client invoices via the customer portals where required
* Assist in obtaining purchase orders from customers and issuing updated invoices
* Full Ledger management and maintenance, ensuring customer details are kept up to date
* Maintain good client relationships, attend client meetings when required
* To provide holiday/sickness cover for other members of the team as requested.
* Travel to Bidvest office locations as/when required.
* Travel for client meetings as/when required.
* Other duties as assigned
Candidate Criteria
* Min 3 years’ experience in similar role
* Strong Excel and IT skills, competent use of Pivot and Vlookups
* Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written
* Excellent customer service skills
* Well organised, attention to detail and meticulous approach to work
* Work well under pressure and to deadlines
* Effectively prioritise and manage own workload
* Ability to work as part of a team
* Knowledge of Unit4 Business would be an advantage but not essential
* CICM qualified an advantage
