Toolmaker
A Toolmaker is required by Career Wise Recruitment for our Galway based client.
The Automation Department reports to the Toolmaker, responsible for producing high quality tooling and daily machine maintenance.
The Toolmaker uses CNC Milling machines, EDM Wiring Erosion Machines, surface grinders, lathes and other conventional machine tools to complete machined parts to specifications defined in Solid Works drawings.
The Role
* Interpret and verify Solid Works drawings, sketches or specifications to fabricate machined parts or assemblies.
* Work with customers within the automation department and production to optimize design and manufacture of parts or modifications to existing parts.
* Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications and quality requirements.
Responsibilities
* Prepare parts for anodizing.
* Assist the designer in the assembly of machine parts to verify fit and function.
* Perform mechanical assembly during machine build as part of the automation team.
* Responsible for daily machinery maintenance within the toolroom.
Requirements
* Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Craft & Toolmaking.
* Experienced Toolmaker with at least 3-5 years experience.
* Competent in 3D CAM software (Auto Desk Fusion) and CNC machinery.
* Experience in interpreting technical drawings is essential.
* Excellent Interpersonal, communication skills both written and oral.
* Excellent PC Skills Experience and good understanding of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice).
* Works well within a team of designers/developers.
* Ability to work on own initiative; highly motivated.
