Team Lead - Logistics, Warehousing & Production recruitment in Ireland.I am delighted to partner with a new client of ours here at Morgan McKinley as they seek to hire a Warehouse & Logistics Director to join their team.The Warehouse & Logistics Director will need to be commercially driven and be able to lead and manage their 18,000 square foot warehouse. This role is a unique opportunity to oversee operations while driving profitability by positioning the warehouse as a profit centre within the business. The ideal candidate will bring proven experience in warehouse management, logistics, team leadership, and a strong focus on commercial outcomes.If you have experience in opening a distribution centre and also a passion for the e-commerce side of business then this will be right up your ally.Key Responsibilities:Warehouse Operations ManagementOversee the day-to-day operations of the 18,000 square foot warehouse, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and productivity.Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to optimize performance and reduce costs.Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.Commercial Strategy and ProfitabilityEstablish and execute a commercial strategy to transform the warehouse into a profit centre.Monitor and analyse key financial metrics, including cost control, revenue generation, and profitability targets.Identify and develop opportunities for new revenue streams, such as value-added services or partnerships.Logistics and Supply Chain ManagementManage all logistics, including inbound and outbound shipments, inventory management, and order fulfilment.Develop relationships with suppliers, carriers, and other stakeholders to ensure cost-effective and timely operations.Utilise data to forecast inventory needs and optimize storage capacity.Team Leadership and DevelopmentLead, manage, and mentor a team of warehouse staff to maintain high performance and morale.Oversee recruitment, training, and performance management of warehouse employees.Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.Technology and SystemsOversee the implementation and use of warehouse management systems (WMS) to streamline operations.Leverage data and analytics to inform decisions and drive efficiencies.Key Requirements:Experience and SkillsMinimum of 5 years experience managing a warehouse of similar size (25,000 sq ft) or larger.Proven track record of managing a warehouse as a profit centre or with a focus on commercial outcomes.Strong knowledge of logistics, supply chain management, and inventory control.Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams in a fast-paced environment.Proficiency in warehouse management systems and data-driven decision-making.Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.Education and QualificationsBachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field (preferred but not required).Relevant certifications, such as Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM), are advantageous.Personal AttributesCommercially astute with a strategic mindset.Results-oriented with a strong focus on achieving financial and operational targets.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Adaptable, innovative, and comfortable with change.Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Achievement of revenue and profitability targets for the warehouse.Operational efficiency metrics (e.g., order accuracy, on-time shipment rate).Cost savings achieved through process optimization and vendor negotiations.Employee satisfaction and retention rates
