The Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for designing Fire Suppression systems using site surveys or supplied drawings. Based in the Cork office, the successful candidate will train & learn with the design team to support business operations and customer’s needs.

How you will do it
1. Ensuring design schedule is met for approval, fabrication & construction, liaising with sales & contract manager with onsite specifications, installation & bracketing.
2. Completing Design Risk Assessments.
3. Liaise with Purchasing/Stores regarding head types readily available.
4. Checking all drawings before issuing.
5. Issuing drawings to CM and Foreman.
6. Creating FM, NPFA, EN Completion certs & issuing to Contracts Manager for adding to handover packs.
7. Issuing design info to get Hydraulic Data plates manufactured.
What we look for
1. Design experience within a mechanical/electrical/industrial field.
2. Proficient in the use of AutoCAD; 3D capabilities would be a distinct advantage.
3. A full driving license.
4. Excellent organisational skills.
5. Good written and verbal communication skills.
6. Sprinkler design or knowledge would be advantageous.
7. Experience in the use of Microsoft Office will be advantageous.
8. Design experience and knowledge of other types of fire suppression systems will be of real benefit.
