Job Summary:
We are seeking a Staff Grade (Grade II) Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to work as part of the psychology team in Wheatfield Prison, Irish Prison Service.
This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside a well-structured multi-disciplinary team with clients who present with a range of mental health and criminogenic needs.
The role offers excellent training and development opportunities, as well as the possibility of permanent employment.
Responsibilities:
Prison-based Psychologists will have regular contact with community agencies involved in supporting people leaving custody.
They will also work with families and carers of those in custody, where clinically appropriate.
Time-limited community interventions may be provided to support a client's transition from custody to community.
Requirements:
* Eligibility for graduate membership of the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) or the British Psychological Society (BPS).
* A postgraduate professional qualification in Clinical Psychology recognised by PSI, or a postgraduate professional qualification in Counselling Psychology recognised by PSI.
Deseable Requirements:
* Experience in addressing emotional, mental health and/or offence-related difficulties with a forensic or inpatient population.
* Experience of providing consultation, education, guidance and support to multidisciplinary colleagues.
* Further therapeutic or research qualifications.
