Job Title: Environmental, Health & Safety Manager
The role holder will lead the environmental, health and safety (EHS) function for the organisation, driving compliance and continuous improvement in process, culture & behaviours.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement an EHS strategy for the Arrabawn Group to achieve and sustain the highest standard of EHS performance.
* Provide active management and support to the EHS team, including leadership development and training.
* Support the Senior Management Team in fulfilling their statutory duties through risk management and compliance with current environment, health and safety legislation.
* Oversee and support the effective implementation of EHS Management Systems to ensure legal compliance, continuous improvement, and maintenance of ISO Standards.
* Manage resources and deliver ongoing monitoring, auditing, and reporting on EHS performance to enable senior management allocate suitable resources and plan business safety objectives.
* Ensure regulatory compliance with the Industrial Emissions Licence (IEL) and GHG permit, and implement processes to reduce environmental impacts.
* Plan, develop, and coordinate the company's EHS risk management programme.
* Provide regular briefings with management and employees on EHS impacts within the business.
* Support management in developing and implementing safe operating procedures.
* Embed a reporting culture across the organisation for all matters related to EHS.
* Develop, implement, and monitor the effectiveness of emergency response procedures.
* Support external audits, inspections, and accreditation assessments with a designated EHS element.
* Use key performance indicators to monitor and report safety and environmental performance to senior management.
* Support project managers to plan and deliver construction and upgrade projects safely.
* Develop and implement health promotion programmes within the business.
* Provide advice and support to safety representatives and committees at various locations.
* Manage correspondence with regulatory bodies.
* Conduct site inspections regularly with local management.
* Monitor contractor management procedures.
Requirements:
* EHS qualification to QQI level 8 or above.
* Knowledge of current Irish legislation.
* Experience managing an EHS Management System.
* A minimum of 4 years post-qualification experience in a production/manufacturing environment.
* Experience managing an IPPC/IEL licence and familiarity with wastewater treatment principles.
* Strong understanding of Irish environmental, health and safety regulations, standards, and industry practices.
* Proven cultural and behavioural change experience.
* Ability to influence at all levels within the organisation.
* Flexibility to travel between different company locations.
* Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
