Opportunity for an ATEX Safety Engineer for a Client based role based in Ireland, based partially on site and local client office (closest to you), you will report directly to the Senior Asset Planning Engineer in the Asset Planning Maintenance Planning Team. You will be responsible for:
Support Uisce Éireann in managing the risks associated with explosive atmospheres to a level that is as low as reasonably practicable (ALARP).
Support Uisce Eireann to ensure legal compliance with Part 8 of the General Application Regulations 2007.
Support Uisce Éireann to have processes in place to ensure that stakeholders operating Uisce Éireann assets, which contain explosive atmospheres, have robust ATEX risk management controls in place.
Work closely with Senior Asset Planning Engineer for the prioritisation and identification of Sites for ATEX safety systems.
Review ATEX control documentation and processes.
Review ATEX related surveys and documentation.
Review remediation works and hand over for delivery on site.
Be able to conduct ATEX risk assessment surveys (e.g. EPD's- Explosion Protection Documents) etc. on existing process site buildings with regard to their existing equipment and set up and identify deficiencies with Building Regulations compliance for these systems.
Be able to review ATEX Risk Assessment risk assessment surveys carried out by others and devise a ATEX safety strategy for that building to bring it up to Building Regulations compliance standard and other statutory legislation standard with respect to ATEX safety.
Attend ATEX Process Safety Working Group meetings.
Scoping out the requirements for the remediation works to a building to bring it up to Building Regulations compliance standard and other statutory legislation standard with respect to ATEX safety.
Devising Inspection, maintenance and servicing routines for ATEX equipment
Play a key role in stakeholder management with internal and external stakeholders.
Performing other such duties in relation to work and asset management as Uisce Éireann may require.Desired experience:
At least 7 years experience in ATEX safety systems, planning, design and statutory compliance of safety systems.
A relevant engineering or scientific qualification to degree level or relevant ATEX Safety Qualification.
Experience in sign off of ATEX Safety Systems to show statutory compliance with Building Regulations.
Strong knowledge and competency in CompEx (meaning Competency working in Explosive atmospheres) inspections and procedures etc.
Be competent in hazardous area identification i.e. ATEX area Zoning (hazardous area risk assessment tool required)
Be familiar with water and water equipment that can lead to an ATEX rating - biogas, hydrogen, dried sludge etc.
Be competent in creating long term EX rated equipment Inspection and maintenance plans.
Excellent Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skillsA full JD can be provided upon request.
You will also have excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work within a team at all times.
