Job Summary:Shannon Swimming & Leisure Centre Ltd is seeking a dynamic and experienced Duty Manager (Pool) to lead our pool operations.
This role demands strong leadership skills in pool management, financial planning, and staff supervision, ensuring a safe, efficient, and customer-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:Oversee daily pool operations, ensuring safety, cleanliness, and operational efficiency.Possess detailed technical knowledge of all aspects of the pool environment.Manage staffing schedules, ensuring staff qualifications and certifications are current.Oversee the Shannon Leisure Centre Swim Academy and School Aquatics Programme.Oversee the Shannon Leisure Centre Water Safety & Swim teacher Programme.Enhance and deliver private lessons, lifeguard, and swim teacher courses.Promote a vibrant swimming culture through advertising, special offers, and engaging activities.Achieve financial and operational targets for pool operations, contributing to budget strategies and financial planning.Conduct regular water testing and promptly address any issues.Organise and lead regular staff training sessions and meetings.Conduct disciplinary meetings when required, ensuring compliance with organisational policies.Enforce safety rules, lifeguarding standards, and emergency response procedures.Assist with general cleaning, equipment maintenance, and overall facility supervision.Officiate events and address customer service concerns to maintain high satisfaction levels.Support Dry Side Duty Manager and cover responsibilities as required.Administer First Aid when necessary.Undertake any training necessary for professional development.Qualifications & Skills:Proven experience in pool management and staff supervision.Strong knowledge of pool safety standards and technical operations.Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.Financial acumen with experience in budget management and achieving financial targets.Ability to promote programs effectively and engage the community.Level 2 lifeguard and full swim teacher qualification essential.First Aid certification, swim teacher tutor and lifeguard tutor qualifications preferred.Specialist Areas:Swim Academy: Oversee academy operations, develop promotions, ensure instructor certifications, and organize groups, classes, and instructors.Staff Training and Recruitment: Run regular in-house staff lifeguard and swim teacher training sessions and qualification renewals.
