Project Accountant
We are currently recruiting a Project Accountant to join our team for a 12-month fixed-term contract based in Dublin South.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the financial control requirements of our business unit, covering project budgetary control, periodic reporting, financial planning and forecast management, project controls, contract management, and funding cash flow management.
Key Responsibilities:
* Project Contract Financial Management: Ensure accurate financial management of projects from initiation to completion.
* Provide Periodic Financial Reports: including commentaries on variances and performance.
* Perform Analysis and Preparation of Accruals: identify and document accruals and provisions.
* Produce Periodic Variance Analysis Reports: highlighting areas for improvement.
* Ensure effective Internal Controls: operate within the business unit.
* Identify Improvements: document improvements to control processes and procedures.
* Prepare Budgets, Forecasts and 5-Year Planning: providing strategic financial guidance.
* Provide Information: in accordance with the agreed reporting calendar.
* Report on Third-Party Performance: monitoring and evaluating vendor performance.
* Assist with Auditing Processes: ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
* Fully qualified accountant with 3 years post-qualification experience.
* Experience in Project Accounting: infrastructure project accounting essential.
* Excellent IT skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office & Excel: SAP experience an advantage.
* Ability to work as part of a finance team and with technical project team members.
* Understanding of Contracts and Contract Variations: procurement to invoice process.
* Strong understanding of Irish Tax Law: impact on project budgets and forecasts.
* Demonstrated ability in preparing high-quality, timely, and consistent financial reports.
* Knowledge of public procurement an advantage.
