Role Overview
As an EHS Specialist, you will support and drive a strong safety culture across our operations, ensuring compliance with legal and corporate standards while promoting continuous improvement in Environment, Health & Safety performance. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to embed EHS best practices into everyday operations and help achieve Danone’s sustainability and safety objectives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support the implementation and maintenance of Client's EHS management systems in accordance with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and internal policies.
2. Conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and root cause analysis to identify and mitigate hazards.
3. Lead EHS training initiatives to promote awareness and compliance among employees and contractors.
4. Monitor and report on key EHS metrics and performance indicators.
5. Ensure compliance with local health, safety, and environmental legislation and corporate requirements.
6. Coordinate and support audits, inspections, and EHS-related certifications.
7. Partner with departments to drive environmental sustainability projects and reduce resource usage (energy, water, waste).
8. Act as a key contact for emergency preparedness and response plans.
9. Support continuous improvement initiatives and champion a proactive safety culture.
Key Requirements
1. Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related discipline.
2. 3+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing, food, pharma, or FMCG environment.
3. Strong working knowledge of EHS regulations, standards, and management systems.
4. Excellent communication, coaching, and influencing skills across all levels of the organization.
5. Proficient in MS Office and EHS software tools/systems.
6. Self-starter with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
7. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Desirable Qualifications
1. NEBOSH Diploma, IOSH membership, or equivalent certification.
2. Experience with sustainability reporting and environmental compliance (e.g., EPA, SEAI).
3. Knowledge of Lean or Continuous Improvement tools related to EHS.
