Technical Quality Manager required for leading Seafood Organisation, Dublin.
Salary: 55,000 - 60,000 per annum+ Excellent Career Progression.
Days of work : Monday to Friday.
Location: Balbriggan, Dublin.
Our client is an award winning family run business in operation since 1984. Since then they have grown from a small unit, into a major company with a British Retail Consortium (BRC) accredited processing plant on a 3.5 acre site and work with a large range of products from live, fresh, frozen and cooked seafood that are exported across the world. Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years solid experience within the food industry. preferably with experience within the seafood industry. Due to their continued success, they are now seeking a talented and highly experienced Technical Quality Manager to join their team.
The Role
The purpose of this role is to ensure that the Food Safety and Quality Systems are maintained and followed across the site and all products fully conform with all the relevant Customer, BRC, Bord Bia, Quality & Food Safety standards and specifications.
The main requirements and responsibilities of the role are as follows:
Develop, implement and maintain the site Food Safety & Quality Management System, to ensure compliance with Quality & Food Safety standards e.g. Bord Bia, Origin Green, BRC etc.
Oversee the Quality Control system and related processes and ensure compliance with policies, procedures and standards.
Promote and develop a culture where Quality and Food Safety take precedence.
HACCP - conduct an annual review of risk assessments and ensure it is updated as required to account for any changes or new processes, etc.
Lead the Annual Management Review of the quality system
Maintain compliance with existing and proposed legislation and regulations in all geographies where our products are sold, e.g. labelling, product traceability, allergens, materials in contact, risk management etc.
Develop and manage effective, positive relationships with Customers, ensure their expectations are clearly understood across the organisation and address customer issues related to quality and food safety.
Manage the Internal Audit programme and lead external audits. Communicate audit findings to management, compile responses and ensure all non-conformances are addressed in line with Audit requirements.
Support R&D, New Product Development to ensure Quality and Food Safety are intrinsic to their processes and initiatives.
Conduct Annual Supplier Audits and manage, analyse and report on supplier performance - identify all supplier issues /defects etc., investigate and address any supplier non-conformances or issues, in conjunction with the relevant manager.
Maintain effective document control of all revisions of documents policies, procedures and records as appropriate.
Manage and ensure effectiveness of programmes for pest control, cleaning, sampling, calibration etc.
Oversee and co-ordinate employee training programmes, ensure work instructions are maintained and utilised for training. Develop and deliver training - induction, HACCP, Food Safety, Hygiene and Health & Safety programmes.
Manage incoming raw material/product specifications and certificates of analysis.
Maintain quality, food safety and technical records as required.
Conduct/lead root cause analysis and ensure implementation of corrective actions to prevent recurrences of non-conformances with Quality and Food Safety standards.
The Person:
This is the ideal role for you if you have:
A Level 8 Degree in Food Science or related discipline.
A minimum of 3+ years experience working in a similar Quality / Technical Management in a food processing business.
Experience of developing and implementing Food Safety, ISO, BRC standards.
