Key Responsibilities:
* Provide engineering support for the introduction of new products and processes into manufacturing under broad supervision from the Senior Manufacturing Engineer.
* Develop and maintain product and process documentation, including drawings, specifications, bills of materials, change notices, validations, process flows, work instructions, and risk assessments.
* Evaluate new equipment, processes, chemicals, and materials for environmental impact to minimize their effects.
* Participate in planning effective scaling of new products from initial builds to volume production.
* Lead the ownership of first run builds for new products.
* Diagnose and implement solutions to manufacturing issues using a structured problem-solving approach.
* Develop expertise on operating programs for various equipment and become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for specific assigned processes and equipment.
* Implement lean manufacturing principles.
* Continuously improve process design and capability, layout, operational performance, and reduce defects.
* Optimize production flow to achieve quality at source and fast feedback from inspections.
* Design jigs and fixtures to meet manufacturing requirements.
* Meet and/or exceed milestones and goals agreed with the company.
* Maintain plant safety and health and safety requirements.
* Aware of potential environmental impacts associated with work activities.
* Conserve energy where possible.
* Contribute to continual improvement activities of OH&S, Environmental, and Energy Management systems.
* Keep skills current with latest developments in technologies and materials relevant to the company's business.
Requirements:
* Degree qualification in Engineering is essential.
* 1-2 years industry experience.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Practical, constructive, and analytical approach to problem solving.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Knowledge of ergonomics and Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma methodologies is an advantage.
