Senior Urban Designer/Landscape Architect Dublin Studio Due to continued growth, BDP are looking for an experienced Senior Urban Designer/Landscape Architect to join our Dublin studio who will work closely with our Project Directors, Principals, and multi-disciplinary design teams to assist in the delivery of high-profile projects across multiple sectors. As part of the role, you will work closely with our landscape team to ensure cohesive integration of landscape design within urban projects, enhancing both functionality and aesthetic appeal. Taking a pivotal role in project delivery from day one, you will be in a key position to manage, monitor, and drive the performance of the projects in the Dublin studio.
The Role Produce urban planning and urban design work in accordance with client's requirements and aspirations for their projects.Research and develop solutions to urban design challenges.Deliver quality design for urban design and public realm projects within the allocated resource and time.Prepare design studies and develop designs in various formats such as sketches, drawings, 3D digital studies, models, etc.Manage, prepare, correct, and update design presentations and design reports in various formats including PowerPoint, InDesign, etc.Communicate and coordinate with clients regarding design schemes and implementation.Assist in marketing efforts to current clients alongside the identification and engagement of new clients.About you You will have:
Relevant university qualifications and professional training, for example as an Urban Designer / Masterplanner, Member of the Irish Landscape Institute (MILI), or Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute (CMLI).A minimum of 5 years relevant experience in practice (i.e. not including any years in university education), with extensive and demonstrable examples of urban design, public realm, and masterplanning studies at a variety of scales from public spaces and city blocks through to district, citywide, and regional/sub-regional scales.Excellent design skills and a proven ability to produce high quality masterplans.An attractive hand drawing style or equivalent skill in quickly visualising designs for clients in 3D.Excellent presentation, report writing, and drawing/graphic skills.Excellent coordination skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Rhino, and Adobe suites (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) is required; knowledge of Lumion and Revit is an advantage.A knowledge of and interest in the urbanism field and of current challenges and opportunities, and a strong desire to secure better outcomes for cities and communities through planning and design.A thorough understanding of urban dynamics, including economics, real estate, governance, infrastructure, environment, and social matters, such that you can work with all relevant stakeholders to develop effective, integrated plans and proposals.About us BDP is a continuous collective of architects, engineers, designers, and urbanists.
