Lyrate Estate Hotel, set on the doorstep of Kilkenny City, just one hour from Dublin, is a luxurious five-star hotel set in the heart of Ireland. Lyrath Estate boasts a 17th Century Estate House alongside a modern-day extension, demonstrating a triumphant marriage of old and new. The hotel has 141 bedrooms, an Oasis Spa, and the largest convention centre in the Southeast of Ireland, which can hold up to 1500 guests for conferencing and up to 800 guests for banquets.
We now have a fantastic opportunity to join our team as our Assistant Front Office Manager.
Position Overview
In this role, you will support the Front Office Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring a smooth and efficient guest experience. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong leadership skills and a passion for customer service to grow within a thriving hotel environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Assist in managing the Front Office team, including Reception, Concierge, and Guest Services.
2. Ensure the guests always experience our five-star service.
3. Ensure a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all guests, addressing any inquiries or concerns promptly.
4. Support the Front Office Manager in scheduling, training, and evaluating team members.
5. Welcome and check in all guests with the minimum of delay and with the highest level of hospitality extended.
6. Ensure all cash and credit card transactions are recorded correctly and that the daily cash for the Front Desk is recorded accurately in line with hotel procedures.
7. Ensure all guests are checked out with minimum delay and that any complaints/queries are actioned immediately or passed to the relevant department.
8. Maintain high standards of guest service and ensure compliance with hotel policies.
9. Ensure all guests' bills are presented and processed accurately and efficiently.
10. Assist in managing budgets, reports, and operational goals.
11. Ensure front desk areas are clean, organized, and presentable at all times.
Qualifications
1. Previous experience in a Front Office or Guest Services role, preferably in a hotel environment.
2. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage a team effectively.
3. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
4. Proficiency in hotel management software Hotsoft is a distinct advantage.
5. Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to guest service.
6. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
7. A degree in Hospitality Management or a related field is a plus.
8. Ability to work in a fast-paced busy environment.
