Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to maintain and troubleshoot process devices, instrumentation, and controls within a manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will ensure compliance, safety, and reliable operations in support of production. This role operates on a 24-hour shift pattern and includes a 33% shift allowance.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide technical support for production equipment, performing maintenance, calibrations, troubleshooting, and upgrades as required.
* Maintain process and production systems through preventive maintenance and repairs, driving continuous equipment reliability.
* Plan and execute maintenance schedules, minimizing downtime and ensuring resource availability.
* Operate and monitor production support equipment using MES/DCS and PLC systems to achieve optimal uptime and performance.
* Troubleshoot and repair complex systems, including CIP, autoclaves, HVAC, isolators, and bulk chemical distribution, ensuring adherence to cGMP standards.
* Conduct root cause analysis for system failures using tools such as FMEA, Fishbone diagrams, and 5 Whys; implement corrective actions.
* Document all maintenance activities, including upgrades and repairs, in line with compliance requirements.
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by participating in Kaizen events, system upgrades, and preventative maintenance projects.
* Liaise with vendors for spare parts, system upgrades, and equipment-related support.
* Assist in developing and maintaining operational procedures, training materials, and maintenance documentation.
* Promote a safe and compliant culture in line with organizational policies and regulatory standards.
Skills & Experience Required
* Technical Expertise: Experience in troubleshooting and maintaining process instrumentation and equipment; understanding of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and pneumatic systems.
* Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with Irish, European, and International codes and standards in a GMP environment.
* Software Proficiency: Competence in Microsoft Office and CMMS systems; Lean Six Sigma experience is desirable.
* Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with attention to detail and a results-oriented mindset.
* Interpersonal Skills: Effective communication, teamwork, and customer service abilities, with experience liaising with vendors.
* Flexibility: Self-motivated and adaptable to dynamic work environments, with excellent time management and multitasking skills.
Qualifications
* Leaving Certificate or equivalent.
* Completed apprenticeship in Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechanical Fitting, or a related field.
