Job Title: Head Butcher
About the Role:
The Head Butcher is responsible for managing the Meat Department and ensuring it operates efficiently and effectively at all times. This involves providing excellent quality products and services to customers, communicating range changes and offers to the team, and driving sales through various initiatives.
Main Responsibilities:
- Maintain high standards of retail cuts following customer needs
- Drive sales through KPI reports, financial reports, brand initiatives, customer initiatives, and employee knowledge
- Implement planograms correctly and ensure the correct range is in place in store
- Attend and engage in weekly management meetings and bring learnings back to the team
- Ensure staff are competent in duties and receive adequate training
- Enhance product knowledge by gathering information from various sources and sharing ideas with employees and management
- Merchandise and present the department to a high standard at all times
Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate will have/be:
- 2 years' experience in a Supervisor/Manager role (desirable)
- 2 years' experience as a Butcher
- Craft Butchery course (desirable)
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
- Numerical skills
- Experience in gross profit and margins (desirable)
- Creative
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to engage with and prioritize customer needs
- Strong attention to detail, organized, and flexible
