Architect with conservation experience
Howley Hayes Cooney is a design led practice in Dublin, working at the intersection of contemporary design and creative conservation. We have an exciting opportunity for an architect with conservation experience who is passionate about architecture to join our growing team, and work on a wide variety of projects including the adaptive reuse of existing buildings, the design of new contemporary buildings, and the conservation of important historic buildings and places throughout Ireland.
* This position is studio based in Dublin, Ireland.
* Practical experience of working through all stages of conservation projects.
* Knowledge and experience of Irish building regulations and statutory consent processes for protected structures including National Monuments Consent / Notification.
* Conservation accreditation to RIAI Grade 2 or equivalent (RIBA / AABC), or working towards it, is desirable but not essential.
* An interest in ecclesiastical conservation architecture.
* Candidates should be self-motivated, with excellent presentation and drawing skills, and be prepared to work in a collaborative environment.
* Experience in communicating with clients, design teams, contractors, and statutory bodies.
* Excellent design and technical skills with an interest in high quality design.
* Excellent standard of spoken, written, and technical English.
* Experience of managing grant applications is an advantage.
* Experience in the preparation of conservation management plans and reports is an advantage.
