Perfect Opportunity for Electrical Professionals
We are seeking a skilled Electrician or Electrical Engineer with expertise in High Voltage (HV), Medium Voltage (MV), Switchgear, and Transformers to join our team in a hybrid desk-based role.
This position focuses on coordinating MV/HV equipment repairs and maintenance, fault diagnosis, and stakeholder management, rather than fieldwork. You will receive full training and close mentorship to help you transition smoothly into the role.
Key Responsibilities:
* Organise & Oversee Repairs: Manage faults and repairs to MV/HV equipment (Switchgear, Transformers) including sourcing materials and labour.
* Support & Diagnose LV Equipment: Assist in diagnosing and repairing LV equipment associated with MV/HV systems, such as remote boxes and protection relays.
* Documentation & Systems Management: Use relevant databases to organise maintenance and repairs and ensure compliance with industry standards.
* Act as Switching Control Engineer: After training, oversee switching control for sites in the UK and Ireland, including first energisations.
* Liaise with Stakeholders: Work with technicians, Distribution Network Operators (DNOs), and stakeholders across the UK and Ireland.
* Ensure Safety & Compliance: Ensure all work follows legal, procedural, and best practice standards. Maintain accurate documentation for safe work execution.
* Travel: Occasional travel to wind energy sites across Ireland and Europe.
Qualifications & Profile:
* Experience: 1-2 years' electrical experience, plant maintenance, with essential HV experience.
* Education: Minimum trade qualification or third-level degree in electrical discipline.
* Knowledge: SCADA systems knowledge is beneficial.
* Skills: Excellent communication, organisational skills, and the ability to work independently.
* Additional: Full clean driving licence required. Proficient in Microsoft Office packages. Willingness to travel nationwide and occasionally to Europe.
