Continuous Improvement Coordinator
My client, a global leader in sustainable packaging, is looking to recruit a Continuous Improvement Coordinator to work within their Operational Excellence Department. The Continuous Improvement Coordinator role is designed to coach and guide the implementation of the Operational Excellence System (OES), which is a Lean Six Sigma deployment into the organization. This role is the direct conduit between the tactical/operational and strategic initiatives in the organization. This position requires a leader that can facilitate and drive change in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment, leveraging strong interpersonal and influencing skills. The successful candidate will report directly to the General Manager.
Responsibilities:
1. Align with strategic objectives for the Division/Region/Plant and execute OE strategy to accomplish them.
2. Responsible for the training/coaching of belts at the local plant level to achieve savings goals.
3. Execute LSS projects to meet division savings goals.
4. Focus on driving improvements in revenue and driving cost out of the business through more effective processes, elimination of non-value added or duplicate efforts, waste, and other related defects in the process.
5. Train teams to utilize Lean Six Sigma tools and methodology.
6. Provide and share foundational best practices.
7. Ensure alignment to the system across plants.
8. Coach and assist plants in their Zero Loss Thinking and Analysis.
9. Ensure plants are prepared for the launch of the OE initiatives.
10. Perform audits and assessments for the evaluation of OE.
11. Identify training needs/gaps prior to and during the implementation.
12. Raise issues that need to be addressed.
13. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
1. Minimum 5 years of manufacturing and/or Continuous Improvement experience.
2. Preferred similar experience in Lean Operating Systems.
3. Prefer leadership of deployment of Lean Operating Systems.
4. Foundational experience in Continuous Improvement.
5. Green certification preferred but not required.
6. Coaching and communication skills.
7. Strong leadership abilities.
8. Professional maturity – ability to work with all levels.
