Job Title – Maintenance Technician

Salary – €50K - €60K
Role Overview:
Our client company, based in County Kildare and specializing in the Food Manufacturing sector, is looking to recruit a Maintenance Technician to join their experienced team. We seek a talented individual who can work in a team environment to carry out maintenance repairs and perform routine maintenance on site.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a positive hands-on approach who is willing to develop their skills and knowledge further.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide maintenance support to the production facility.
2. Carry out wiring installation and commissioning of plant/equipment and troubleshooting on plant and equipment.
3. Perform scheduled and unplanned maintenance of plant equipment.
4. Conduct facility checks, including meter readings, reports, and resolving discrepancies.
5. Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and electro-mechanical repairs to a PLC-controlled plant.
6. Minimize downtime in production and utility areas.
7. Troubleshoot using PLC programs/wiring diagrams.
8. Provide technical support for all plant facilities and services, including compressed air and refrigeration.
9. Fully support maintenance, shift cover, phone support, and callouts.
10. Carry out maintenance work orders and requests in a timely and safe manner while adhering to GMP.
11. Assist the health & safety team in conducting risk assessments of new and existing machines and ensuring training is rolled out to the Maintenance Team.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
1. Relevant third-level qualification in Engineering or time-served Electrician or fitter (Electrical/Mechanical Qualification/Mechanical Experience).
2. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a maintenance role, with planned and reactive maintenance skills.
3. Experience in a similar maintenance role within an FMCG industrial plant (food production environment).
4. Experience with a wide range of Electrical Control Systems, temperature, and PLC/PC Controlled Systems.
5. Excellent awareness and experience related to Quality, Health, and Safety.
6. Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
7. Good verbal and written communication skills.
