Summary: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Inventory Accounting Analyst to ensure the accuracy of financial reporting related to inventory across multiple locations.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, particularly in the creation of new item codes.
Key responsibilities include maintaining inventory schedules, reconciling counts, processing adjustments, and updating pricing.
The candidate will also analyze inventory data, collaborate with supervisors and location managers, and provide actionable recommendations that could impact financial outcomes.
Duties & Responsibilities:Inventory Control & Reconciliation: Maintain an organized inventory schedule aligned with company expectations.Reconcile counts within the scheduled period, resolving discrepancies and escalating when needed.Coordinate on-site counts to ensure adherence to schedule and procedures.Reporting & Analysis: Provide post-count reports detailing store observations, including preparedness, cleanliness, organization, material state, and customer interactions.Analyze inventory reports to assess pricing accuracy, cost alignment, margins, and inventory turnover.Resolve discrepancies before escalating to management to ensure financial integrity.Inventory Adjustments & Claims: Create and maintain accurate item records to support inventory tracking and financial reporting.Process inventory adjustments per guidelines, proactively resolving discrepancies.Conduct weekly coil review to minimize disruptions.Finalize and process claims for damaged materials.Accounting Support & Month-End Tasks: Complete month-end tasks on time to ensure accurate financial reporting and support management decisions.Provide accounting support as needed to maintain efficient operations.Team Collaboration: Support team members and management by being responsive and dependable.Foster collaboration to troubleshoot issues and improve inventory practices.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).Strong understanding of accounting principles, including inventory valuation, cost analysis, and financial reporting.Proven experience in inventory control, financial analysis, or a similar role.Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations.Problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot inventory discrepancies and resolve issues independently.Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.Proficiency in Excel and experience with ERP systems preferred.Effective communication skills for collaborating with supervisors, location managers, and accounting teams.Competencies:Analytical: Synthesizes complex or diverse information; Collects and researches data; Uses intuition and experience to complement data; Designs workflows and procedures.Teamwork: Balances team and individual responsibilities; Exhibits objectivity and openness to others' views; Gives and welcomes feedback; Contributes to building a positive team spirit; Puts success of team above own interests; Able to build morale and group commitments to goals and objectives; Supports everyone's efforts to succeed.Leadership: Exhibits confidence in self and others; Inspires and motivates others to perform well; Effectively influences actions and opinions of others; Accepts feedback from others; Gives appropriate recognition to others.Organizational Support: Follows policies and procedures; Completes administrative tasks correctly and on time; Supports organization's goals and values; Benefits organization through outside activities; Supports affirmative action and respects diversity.Strategic Thinking: Develops strategies to achieve organizational goals; Understands organization's strengths & weaknesses; Analyzes market and competition; Identifies external threats and opportunities; Adapts strategy to
