Who We Are
Cork University Hospital (CUH) is a public hospital owned and managed by the Health Service Executive (HSE) and is a member of the South/South West Hospital Group. It is the largest statutory hospital in Ireland and the only Model 4 hospital in the state.
Description
The successful candidate will be required to commence on Monday 14th July 2025.
The CUH Emergency Department provides a full range of Adult, Paediatric, Resuscitation, Ambulatory, and Observational medicine streams. It is designated nationally to provide pre-hospital support with a fully equipped rapid response car and telemedicine advice for Advanced Paramedics and ships at sea.
CUH is a regional centre for secondary and tertiary care for the catchment area of HSE South and provides a number of supra-regional services in various specialities to the southern third of Ireland.
At a national level, CUH is one of two designated Level 1 trauma centres in the country and provides numerous specialized services including neurosurgery, stroke thrombectomy, PPCI, cardiothoracic surgery, coagulation & haemophilia, cystic fibrosis, and cancer care.
The CUH Group comprises three acute hospitals: Cork University Hospital (Model 4), Mallow General Hospital (Model 2), and Bantry General Hospital. CUH has strong relationships with University College Cork, delivering the largest number of academic clinical placements and clinical research trials in Ireland.
