The College of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences (CMNHS) at the University of Galway seeks to appoint a Lecturer, Type A in Occupational Therapy, Part-time (0.5FTE). This post is being offered as a specific purpose contract and will terminate by reason of the expiry of its specific purpose. It is anticipated that the duration of this assignment will be circa 4 years.
We are seeking applications for the above post in the Discipline of Occupational Therapy, School of Health Sciences at the University of Galway. The appointment will be at the lecturer level. The successful candidate will be expected to lecture on a number of modules for undergraduate students (see full list of duties appended). The Discipline of Occupational Therapy is housed in the Áras Moyola Building where we have state of the art facilities for academic and clinical skills teaching and research.
The B.Sc. (Hons) Occupational Therapy programme is designed to educate those who wish to pursue a professional career in Occupational Therapy. The programme design recognises best practice, aligns with national and international standards, is regulated by CORU and accredited by AOTI on behalf of the World Federation of Occupational Therapy. The post holder will play an important role in ensuring that the curriculum continues to meet professional and regulatory body requirements and keeps abreast with changing approaches to service delivery within the health care sector.
The post holder will support the Head of Discipline of Occupational Therapy in establishing new opportunities in Occupational Therapy education and research.

Salary: €61,758 - €98,523 pro rata p.a (applicable to new entrants effective from January, 2011)
