Job Summary:We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Speech and Language Therapists (SLT) to work with individuals across the lifespan who have communication, swallowing, or feeding difficulties. This role involves assessing, diagnosing, and providing evidence-based interventions to support clients in achieving their communication and swallowing goals.
The ideal candidates will have excellent interpersonal skills, a strong understanding of speech and language disorders, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assessment and Diagnosis:Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders. Use standardized and non-standardized assessment tools to evaluate clients' needs.
2. Intervention and Therapy:Develop and implement individualized therapy plans tailored to clients' needs. Provide direct therapy to clients, either individually or in group settings. Use evidence-based practices to support clients in achieving their goals.
3. Collaboration and Teamwork:Work closely with families, caregivers, teachers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to care. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences.
4. Documentation and Reporting:Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records in line with professional and organizational standards. Prepare reports and documentation for referrals, funding applications, and progress reviews.
5. Education and Training:Provide training and support to families, caregivers, and other professionals on speech and language-related issues. Stay informed about the latest research and developments in the field of speech and language therapy.
6. Advocacy and Awareness:Advocate for clients' communication needs and promote awareness of speech and language therapy services in the community.
Qualifications and Experience:
Essential:A recognized qualification in Speech and Language Therapy. Registration with CORU. Eligibility to work in Ireland.
Desirable:Experience working with specific populations. Knowledge of Irish Sign Language or other relevant languages. Experience working in a multidisciplinary team.
