Role Title:Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)
A senior nursing leadership role responsible for the provision of high-quality and safe nursing services within the Medical Ambulatory Care Directorate.
Purpose of the Role
This post holder leads and has operational responsibility for Integrated Care which includes Medical Ambulatory Care services and related inpatient wards. They will provide strategic, operational, and clinical leadership and direction for nursing within the areas of responsibility, resulting in key performance indicators in the delivery of effective, efficient, quality-assured, and patient-centered nursing care.
Main Responsibilities
* Provide professional leadership to nursing staff at all levels, fostering an enthusiastic, empowering, and committed work environment.
* Support professional development, contribute to the development and implementation of nursing policies and strategies, and ensure the achievement of objectives.
* Operationalise the core values of nursing by ensuring the patient experience in wards, departments, and units is of the highest possible standard at all times.
* Work in partnership with the Clinical Director, Operations Manager, and ADON colleagues to develop the strategic direction of nursing services.
Requirements
* Registered General Nurse with The Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland.
* 7 years post-registration experience in the acute hospital setting within the last 9 years.
* Minimum of 4 years management experience at CNM II level or above within the last 7 years.
* Postgraduate qualification (level 8 or higher on the National Framework of Qualifications - NFQ) in the area of Healthcare or Management-related area.
* Demonstrate I.T. skills including excellent keyboard skills.
* Demonstrate experience in personal and professional development of staff.
* Demonstrate knowledge and experience in leading on and managing risk management, safety, and quality projects and metrics.
