The role
As a Backup and Disaster Recovery (BDR) Engineer, you will design, implement, and maintain BDR solutions to ensure the security and recoverability of our clients' data. Your role is crucial in developing and optimizing BDR processes to minimize downtime and data loss.

Day to day your role will involve
* Design and Implementation: Develop and deploy BDR solutions tailored to client needs.
* Optimisation: Continuously improve BDR processes and solutions for efficiency and effectiveness.
* Incident Management: Lead the response to backup and recovery incidents, providing advanced troubleshooting and resolution.
* Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for BDR solutions and procedures.
* Collaboration: Work closely with other IT teams and stakeholders to ensure cohesive and integrated BDR strategies.
Engage with the Role

* Developing Solutions: Designing and implementing effective BDR solutions.
* Improving Processes: Identifying and executing opportunities for process improvements.
* Managing Incidents: Leading incident response efforts and ensuring timely resolution.
* Documenting Procedures: Keeping detailed documentation for all BDR activities.
* Collaborating with Teams: Working with various teams to ensure integrated and comprehensive BDR strategies.
By leveraging your expertise and delivering on these actions and artifacts, you will not only safeguard our customers data but also fortify our position as a trusted leader in our industry, making a tangible impact on our success.
About You
* 3-5 years of experience in backup and disaster recovery engineering.
* Strong working knowledge of backup and recovery tools (e.g., Veeam, Asigra, Zerto, Quest RR).
* Experience with cloud-based backup solutions.
* Solid understanding of data replication, deduplication, and compression techniques.
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
* Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Bonus points if you have
* Vendor-specific certifications (e.g., Veeam Certified Engineer).
* Experience with automation tools and orchestration platforms.
* Knowledge of virtualisation technologies and their impact on BDR.
